Venable partners Jim Hanks, Sharon KroupaStu Ingis and Milo Cividanes were ranked in the 2013 edition of Chambers Global. Hanks and Ingis were ranked in Band 1 for Capital Markets: REITs and Privacy & Data Security respectively. The firm was also ranked in Band 1 for Capital Markets: REITs: Maryland Counsel and Privacy & Data Security.

Sources described Hanks as “the dean of Maryland corporate law” while another said “Venable is number one and has the lion's share of the market because of Hanks.” Kroupa was described as “extremely talented” and “Venable's lieutenant.” Another source said, “we use her any chance we get.”
