The 2016 edition of Chambers Global featured rankings for six Venable attorneys and two practice groups. Ronald R. Glancz was ranked in Banking and Finance: Mainly Regulatory, Jeffrey S. Sabin was ranked in Bankruptcy/Restructuring, Richard E. Powers was ranked in Energy & Natural Resources, Lindsay B. Meyer was ranked in International Trade: Customs, and Stuart P. Ingis and Emilio W. Cividanes were ranked in Privacy and Data Security with Ingis earning Band 1 honors in his category. Additionally, the firm was also ranked for Energy: Oil & Gas (Regulatory & Litigation) and Privacy & Data Security.

In its editorial commentary, Chambers Global said Glancz is someone who is "very knowledgeable."

Sabin "is highly rated for his long-standing experience in handling matters such as workouts, Chapter 11 filings and distressed M&A."

Chambers Global highlighted Powers' work representing liquid pipeline shippers in regulatory litigation. One client said, "Dick's strengths are his ability to see the big picture and assemble and put forward a strong case."
