Kevin Shepherd authored "Court of Appeals Provides Guidance to Transaction Lawyers" in the September 11, 2017, issue of The Daily Record. Kevin's article provided insights into two recent opinions from the Maryland Court of Appeals affecting transaction lawyers. One case dealt with whether parties to a contract can agree to shorten the statute of limitations period, and the other case involved the judicial enforcement of a provision in an easement agreement shifting the obligation to pay attorneys' fees in a first-party fee shifting provision (Venable represented the prevailing party in the latter case).
