Daniel F. Danello


Daniel Danello regularly advises clients on transactions that are regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), including futures, swaps, and virtual or crypto-currencies. He has substantial experience with other derivative contracts used in structured finance and capital markets transactions or involved in counterparty bankruptcy. As in-house counsel for many years in the financial services industry, Dan advised senior management on debt and equity issuance, security disclosures, liquidity and cash management, and federal banking oversight. Dan has also advised boards of directors on risk management issues, including whistleblower claims, government relations and political contributions, and federal taxation.


  • Advised various clients regarding compliance with CFTC virtual currency regulations
  • Counseled financial and commercial companies regarding margin for uncleared swaps
  • Advised commercial borrowers on adherence with ISDA Dodd-Frank Protocols
