Ebony M. Thompson was elected to the SIF Board of Directors on November 20, 2014.

SIF partners with and operates out of the John’s Hopkins University Center for Social Organization of Schools (CSOS) in Baltimore, Maryland. SIF began with the mission to improve high school graduation in Baltimore City Public schools. There is a high correlation between student’s attendance in middle school and their High School graduation rate. SIF developed a three-year middle-school curriculum incorporating business fundamentals, financial literacy, incentives for improvements in schools, and earning investment funding capabilities. SIF created an online program linking attendance and academic improvements with learning financial investment fundamentals. The SIF curriculum serves under-performing students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades with the goal to increase their attendance in middle school through incentive-based financial education, thus improving high school graduation rates of SIF students and providing earned ownership of stock portfolios.
