Emma S. Marshak

Associate

Emma Marshak is an associate in Venable's Intellectual Property Litigation Group. Her practice encompasses all types of intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, trade dress, false advertising, deceptive trade practices, unfair competition, and copyright issues. Emma has also assisted clients with commercial and complex litigations, class action defense, and government investigations. She has experience with many industries, including pharmaceuticals, consumer products and services, and credit counseling and debt services.

Emma has litigated before the International Trade Commission and federal district courts, and specialized in Federal Circuit and Ninth Circuit appeals for two years as a paralegal prior to attending law school.

Emma maintains an active pro bono practice, including ongoing civil rights litigation in Arkansas and copyright ownership disputes. She has also represented individuals in need of SSI and SSDI benefits.

While in law school, Emma interned in the Cybercrime Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office. She was also a judicial intern in the Roxbury Division of the Boston Municipal Court. Emma spent two years as the executive technical editor of the Harvard Journal on Legislation, and was a member of the board of the Harvard Women’s Law Association for three years.
