Grace X. Gao

Patent Agent

Grace Gao is a patent agent in Venable's Patent Prosecution and Counseling Group in the Washington, DC office. Grace concentrates her practice on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in various technology areas, including screen display devices, touch detection, electronic circuits, automobile control systems, medical devices, mechanical devices, computer software, and telecommunications.

Prior to joining the firm, Grace was a patent agent with H.C. Park and Associates, an IP boutique firm in Reston, Virginia, where she prepared patent applications and conducted patent prosecution for large multinational companies in the areas of electrical engineering, mobile devices, circuitry, automobile mechanical devices, display devices, and touch screen detection. Grace had worked as a patent technical specialist in another boutique intellectual property law firm, where she gained extensive experience in large patent portfolio management, patent drafting, and prosecution for large multinational companies. Prior to working in intellectual property, Grace was an electrical engineer in an electronic manufacturing company, where she interacted with Intel's design engineers for flash memory chip and programmer development. Grace's valuable industry experience was principally in the fields of electrical product development and computer networks. Her graduate research focused on digital signal processing, mobile communication, and remote sensing data analysis.
