The U.S. Government has long sought to balance the need to secure the nation’s telecommunications infrastructure with the desire to ensure that service providers can leverage the most efficient and effective technologies in their networks. In recent years, the U.S. Government has expressed concerns about the use of equipment sourced from certain foreign manufacturers, and the vulnerabilities that such use could introduce into networks.
