Venable partner Jamie Barnett appeared on the September 14, 2016 broadcast of Government Matters to discuss Senator John McCain's opposition to a proposal separating the National Security Agency (NSA) from U.S. Cyber Command. Whether there is a split, Barnett said he thought it likely there would be additional leadership sources added to the current structure. He added that what we are seeing now is the government's evolution on the response to cyberthreats.

Discussing the appointment of Brigadier General Greg Touhill as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Barnett said he would have a strong focus on how the country is getting the most out of its cyberdefense dollars.
