Venable of counsel Jonathan Pompan addressed the implications of last week’s election on the future of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in the November 9, 2012 issue of Levick Weekly. In the interview, Pompan said the bureau would likely continue "unabated" in the wake of President Obama's reelection and with support from Democrats.

Pompan added, "Simply put, it seems that the CFPB is here to stay—and, as a result, financial service providers need to double down on compliance and brace for more scrutiny."
