Earlier this week, Venable announced that Justin Pierce rejoined the firm as a partner in the trademark, copyright, and licensing group after serving as the Head of Trademarks and Brand Protection for Sony Ericsson. The announcement was prominently featured in Law360 and TMCnet.com.

Pierce told Law360 he was excited to rejoin Venable, which he left in 2006 to go to Sony Ericsson, calling the firm an, "unsung hero when it comes to intellectual property." Commenting on his plans at Venable, Pierce said, "I look forward to taking my skills I’ve built in patent litigation, trademarks and other roles in the company and taking that leverage to use it for companies in other industries...Venable is a good platform for me to move forward and work in the area of IP."

According to TMCnet.com, Pierce said, "The firm I left in 2006 still has the same culture of smart, top-flight work combined with value...I look forward to bringing new clients aboard and further expanding Venable's IP, trademark, and brand protection practice."

Pierce's return to Venable was also highlighted in Thomson Reuters, Communications Daily, and Washington Internet Daily.
