Kevin L. Shepherd has been elected President-Elect of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL) for a one-year term beginning at the conclusion of the 2008 annual meeting held in San Francisco October 23-26.

With a total national membership of approximately 900 senior real estate attorneys, ACREL is the premier organization of U.S. real estate lawyers. Admission is by invitation only after a rigorous screening process. ACREL’s distinguished, nationally-known lawyers have been elected to fellowship not only for their outstanding legal ability, experience and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of real estate law, but also for their contributions to the real estate and legal professions through their practices, their legal writings and their public speaking.

Shepherd will automatically become President of ACREL at the conclusion of the 2009 annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

Venable's other ACREL members are Robert Gottlieb, Jan Guben, Philip Horowitz (former ACREL president), Russell Reno, Stefan Tucker, and Jim Wright.
