Lauren M. Bittle


Lauren M. Bittle is an associate in Venable's Corporate Practice Group. Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and joint ventures. Lauren has also handled a variety of matters relating to corporate governance and general corporate issues. Lauren regularly advises startups and emerging growth and later-stage companies across an array of industries, including technology and healthcare.

During law school, Lauren represented clients under the supervision of the Duke Law AIDS Clinic on a variety of matters, including Social Security Disability appeals, estate planning, and HIPAA privacy issues. Lauren also served as a legal intern for U.S. District Court District of Maryland Chief Judge Chasanow.

  • Support internal counsel of one of the United States' largest private companies and leading food processor in day to day contracting matters, acquisitions and general corporate legal needs.
  • Represented Guthy-Renker LLC in the 2016 sale of a majority interest of its worldwide ProActiv business, the world's leading nonprescription acne brand to Nestle Skin Health
  • Represented buyer in the purchase of a digital and direct marketing agency in a membership interest purchase transaction for an aggregate value, including earn-out, of approximately $65 million
  • Represented sellers in the sale of a referral service and marketing agency specializing in rehabilitations in a dual membership interest and securities purchase transactions
  • Represented seller in the sale of a premium skincare company
  • Advised multiple healthcare technology startups in with general corporate matters, including formation, employment issues and obtaining initial investors
  • Regularly advises a leading food processing company on general corporate matters and represented the company in multiple corporate acquisitions of national brands
  • Represented a private equity investor in the purchase of a chain of retail stores specializing in high quality men's clothing
  • Represented the owner of a retail clothing chain in the sale of a majority interest to a private equity investor
  • Represented a Maryland based technology company in a $2 million Series A investment
