Venable counsel Andy Arculin was quoted in an October 12, 2016 Law360 article on the DC Circuit Court's ruling that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's (CFPB) structure was unconstitutional because it is headed by a single director. The ruling, resulting from an appeal of a $109 million penalty against a company, also limited the CFPB's ability to bring cases for actions that occurred before its creation.

"I think that the decision has potential to really hamstring that practice by the bureau," said Arculin.
