Maureen Doran

Associate

Maureen Doran is an associate in the Tax and Wealth Planning group in San Francisco. Prior to joining Venable, she worked at a large AmLaw 100 firm where she focused on helping multinational clients navigate complex international tax considerations by developing and implementing optimal tax and operational solutions. Maureen has designed and executed numerous cross-border multi-jurisdictional restructuring and expansion projects, and she has also worked on various international tax controversy matters.

Maureen assists clients in a range of industries, including technology, transportation, media/communication, medical devices, consulting and real estate. Over the last year, she also remotely acted as in-house international corporate and commercial counsel for a publicly traded technology company client.

Before becoming an attorney, Maureen had a 16 year career at General Electric Capital, culminating in the position of Senior Vice President. During this time, she worked in a variety of divisions including mortgage banking / securitization, commercial real estate, company car leasing, life science and technology equipment financing, private equity and franchise financing.

Maureen earned her J.D. and LL.M., Taxation with honors, from Golden Gate University School of Law. She holds a M.S. in Organizational Dynamics, with honors, from the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University.
