Venable partner Mike Volpe was quoted in the March 12, 2012 issues of the National Law Journal and Law360 on suits filed against several law schools across the country alleging misleading employment and salary figures of graduates. Volpe represents New York Law School in one of the suits. On Monday, a state trial heard arguments on a motion to dismiss.

During arguments, Law360 quoted Volpe saying, “They're not complaining about the quality of their legal education.” Added Volpe, according to the National Law Journal, “What this case appears to be is that the plaintiffs just didn't get the job they wanted now, a few months or a couple of years after law school… Success in the law takes time.” Arguing that law schools offer a number of disclaimers about their figures, Volpe said, “These statistics do not make any promises to an applicant, a student or anyone else.”
