Venable partner Alex Weingarten was quoted in multiple publications on a lawsuit against rapper Wiz Khalifa's former manager seeking an end to a so-called "360 deal." The suit alleges that Benjy Grinberg, Khalifa's former manager, and his Rostrum Records acted as "faithless fiduciaries in direct contravention of their obligations to him." The suit also contends that Grinberg and his label "induced" Khalifa into a "360 agreement" where he would be exclusive to Rostrum and Rostrum would share in his income streams.

"An artist's most trusted advisor is his or her personal manager. Generally, nothing good comes out when the manager decides to go into business against his artist. Unfortunately, that is the case here," Weingarten, who represents Khalifa, told Variety in a May 31, 2016 article.

News of the suit was also featured in Yahoo, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Los Angeles Business Journal, Courthouse News Service, Radio.com, XXL Magazine, AllHipHop, Belfast Telegraph, and EURWeb.com among others.
