The National Law Journal, the Daily Report, and The Legal Intelligencer quoted Venable of counsel Jonathan Pompan in articles on November 19, 21, and 26, 2012, on how President Obama's reelection will impact the behavior of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Lawyers expect the CFPB to be even more aggressive due to support from the White House and the absence of a threat to its existence as promised by challenger Mitt Romney. Pompan affirmed this notion, saying "By all appearances, it's full steam ahead for the CFPB."
