Arun S. Avva

Arun Avva focuses his practice on commercial litigation and arbitration. Arun has represented clients in complex commercial and financial services matters related to private equity, construction, oil and gas, antitrust, and trade secrets. He has also counseled clients through Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) investigations, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) inquiries, and bankruptcy-related proceedings. As a litigator, Arun has experience drafting pleadings, discovery, and pre-trial motions; preparing expert witness reports; taking and defending depositions; and defending motions to dismiss. He also helps promote his clients' interests through alternative methods of dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation.

Before joining Venable, Arun was a commercial litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of an international law firm, where he defended against alter ego liability claims and motions to dismiss and worked on appellate and dispositive motion briefings. Prior to that, he was at a boutique firm focusing on commercial and financial services litigation and arbitration.
