Cale Coffman represents owners, developers, investors, lenders, government-sponsored enterprises, and other financial institutions in a broad range of real estate matters, including acquisition, disposition, development, construction, and financing of commercial projects. Cale has deep knowledge and experience in secured lending transactions, with a focus in multifamily housing assets, representing lenders in over $3 billion of debt financing of conventional and affordable multifamily housing projects.
Cale manages transactions at all levels of complexity, including single-asset transactions and multi-asset portfolios of over 30 properties, as well as transactions involving complex joint ventures, layered public/private debt and equity, and a variety of organizational- and property-level complexities, such as REIT compliance, tax abatement structuring, and other tax planning matters.
Cale also works across a variety of asset classes, including convention, affordable, manufactured, student housing, commercial retail, warehousing, and other industrial real estate. In his lending practice, Cale represents clients in the origination and modification of conventional financing, Fannie Mae DUS loans, multi-asset structured credit facilities, and Federal Housing Administration (FHA) insured mortgage loans. In his commercial real estate practice, Cale represents owners and developers in the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of various asset classes, from commercial retail shopping malls to industrial parks.
