Renée-Lauren Ellis is an associate in Venable's Washington, DC office. She is a member of the firm's Regulatory Practice, providing counsel on FDA and FTC matters, including advertising, labeling, and manufacturing compliance for food, dietary supplement, and drug manufacturers.

Before joining Venable, Renée-Lauren was Regulatory Counsel in the Office of Compliance and Enforcement at FDA's Center for Tobacco Products (CTP). While at CTP, she provided legal and policy analysis on product promotion, advertising, and labeling as well as sale and distribution matters, and she reviewed industry submissions and activity for compliance. Renée-Lauren also evaluated evidence gathered during manufacturer and retailer inspections to determine appropriate action, such as issuing a Warning Letter or Civil Money Penalty Complaint (CMP). Renée-Lauren worked extensively on issuance of CMPs.

Prior to law school, Renée-Lauren worked in the publishing industry, drafting and negotiating author and illustrator contracts at Penguin Random House, Inc.

Renée-Lauren is an active member of the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia and of the Washington Bar Association.
