Anton Lesaca counsels clients on complex issues under the laws and regulations of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Anton identifies and addresses issues related to business operations, product development, and product compliance across a variety of consumer products, including foods, dietary supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, cosmetics, and medical devices. Within the FDA space, he has experience reviewing and assessing scientific research used to support the development of FDA-regulated products, reviewing product claims and labeling for FDA compliance, assessing OTC drug regulations related to product formulations and labeling, and assessing the regulatory status of nutritive, non-nutritive, and dietary ingredients.
Anton has also assisted in carrying out regulatory due diligence of FDA-regulated companies in support of large M&A transactions, has offered advice related to compliance under California’s Proposition 65, and has analyzed advertising issues on consumer products regulated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Prior to joining Venable, Anton served as a summer law clerk with Fannie Mae, where he worked on general litigation matters related to federal housing finance policy. He graduated with honors from Emory University School of Law, where he served as an executive managing editor for Volume 68 of the Emory Law Journal.
