Brenden McDearmon is a registered patent agent with broad technical expertise. Brenden performs patent prosecution and counseling with a focus on the chemical and life sciences industries. He leverages his experience with technologies such as pharmaceuticals, medical treatments and devices, diagnostics, vaccines, biologics, materials chemistry, lithium-ion battery technology, organic electronics, and biopharmaceutical purification to help clients protect their intellectual property (IP) portfolios.

Prior to joining Venable, Brenden served as a patent agent in the DC office of one of the largest IP law firms in the world, performing patent drafting and prosecution for global IP portfolios. In this role, he also conducted due diligence analysis, IP strategy and landscape analysis, freedom-to-operate analysis, and invalidity analysis.
