Anna Perina helps clients navigate complicated international trade issues. Anna is experienced in conducting legal research and drafting memoranda on international trade and national security matters. She drafted a section of a pro bono criminal appeal as a summer associate at Venable. As a law clerk at the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, she conducted statutory, legal, and policy research and wrote background memoranda for confidential investigation topics. She also assisted with related briefing and hearing preparations.
Anna gained valuable experience as a research assistant at Boston University School of Law. She conducted archival research on nineteenth and twentieth century citizenship and immigration laws for a forthcoming book. As a legal intern at the Capital Area Immigrants' Rights (CAIR) Coalition, she drafted motions and wrote memoranda to support removal defense for unaccompanied immigrant children (UAC) clients in Virginia. She conducted interviews in Spanish and evaluated asylum eligibility for UACs detained in federal facilities in Maryland and Virginia.
