Renato Pérez


Renato Pérez focuses his practice on all aspects of brand management, including trademark clearance, registration, portfolio management, and enforcement. Renato's comprehensive trademark practice also includes handling cancellation and opposition proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as strategic portfolio management and enforcement counseling. He counsels clients with large international portfolios on selection, maintenance, and enforcement of trademark rights in the United States and abroad.

Renato also counsels clients on advertising and marketing, privacy, social media, promotions, and sweepstakes issues. His blended practice offers significant value to clients in the areas of rights acquisition, brand management, and brand use best practices throughout the life-cycle of a brand.

Prior to joining Venable, Renato was a multimedia producer at The Pew Charitable Trusts, producing documentaries on environmental topics and working with legal counsel on intellectual property issues related to video and music usage permissions. He also worked as a production manager at the Kaiser Family Foundation, producing live webcasts at international conferences and negotiating copyright licenses for historical footage from major broadcast networks.
