Liz Sanders has spent much of her career working in-house for businesses ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, bringing critical perspective to her practice. Liz also has a breadth of industry experience and has managed numerous legal and executive functions in her roles. Her areas of focus include M&A, corporate finance transactions, product development and commercialization, compliance, and commercial leases, among others.
Prior to joining Venable, Liz served as general counsel at Braven Environmental. In this role, Liz was responsible for providing legal advice in such areas as renewable energy, commercial and compliance matters, real property transactions, and intellectual property rights. She also addressed transactional matters, including potential joint ventures, municipal green bond offerings, sales of common units, transfers among members, and issuance and repayment of company debt. She oversaw compliance requirements, policy development, data privacy, and risk management.
Liz also served as chief counsel for the Transactions/M&A team at Panasonic. She worked with companies in the areas of solar, high density wi-fi, the Internet of Things, and predictive analytics. She also spent 14 years in-house with Siemens, where she was on the M&A team, led the procurement team, and counseled the Siemens start-up, Technology-to-Business. Liz began her career as a corporate associate at Graubard Miller and Clifford Chance in New York.
Liz is proficient in German, conversational in Spanish, and speaks basic Japanese.
