Renato Pérez is an associate in Venable's Regulatory Practice Group in Washington, D.C. He counsels clients on FCC, FDA and FTC matters, including brand protection, advertising, marketing, labeling and manufacturing compliance for food, dietary supplements and drug manufacturers.
Mr. Pérez graduated magna cum laude from the American University Washington College of Law. While in law school, he served as a student attorney in the Glushko-Samuelson Intellectual Property Law Clinic where he counseled clients on trademark, copyright and patent matters. His work with the clinic was recognized with the Dean’s Award for Professional Responsibility for his outstanding performance in a clinical program.
Prior to joining Venable, Mr. Pérez was a Multimedia Producer at The Pew Charitable Trusts, where he produced documentaries on environmental topics and worked with legal counsel on intellectual property issues related to video and music usage permissions. He also worked as a Production Manager at the Kaiser Family Foundation, where he produced live webcasts at international conferences and negotiated copyright licenses for historical footage from major broadcast networks.
