Ryan S. Kasdin


Ryan Kasdin is an associate in Venable's Nonprofit Organizations Practice, resident in the firm's Washington, DC office. He has broad experience advising nonprofit organizations on commercial transactions and structural and operational matters, including formation, corporate governance, tax exemption, fiscal sponsorships, chapters and affiliates, mergers, alliances and joint ventures, contracts, grant-making, copyright and trademark protection and licensing, lobbying and political activity regulation, fundraising regulation, and other areas. Ryan also has represented universities, foundations, hospitals, and arts and cultural institutions in connection with the investment of their endowments.

Prior to joining Venable, Ryan worked in New York City for several years in the nonprofit organizations practice at a large New York City-based law firm, where he primarily provided transactional, governance, and tax-exemption-related support to national, international, and local nonprofit organizations.

While earning his law degree, Ryan completed an externship with the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary. Prior to law school, he worked for the American Civil Liberties Union and the National State Attorneys General Program at Columbia Law School.
