Stephen T. Salsbury

Stephen T. Salsbury is a 2017 graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center. At Georgetown, he was a member of the Street Law clinic and worked with the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project, representing an Afghan interpreter with a Special Immigrant Visa application. During his 1L summer, Mr. Salsbury served as an intern for the Honorable Richard D. Bennett, U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. In this role, Mr. Salsbury conducted research and drafted opinions and bench memoranda for both civil and criminal cases. During his 2L summer, he was a summer associate with Venable where he conducted research and drafted memoranda for commercial litigation and for pro bono cases, including an asylum complaint for a Honduran national and a petition for writ of actual innocence for a client seeking postconviction relief.

Prior to law school, Mr. Salsbury worked as a congressional investigator in the U.S. House of Representatives with the Committee on Energy and Commerce, Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. He investigated implementation of the Affordable Care Act; assisted with the review of the government response to an outbreak of fungal meningitis resulting from compounded drugs; and supported Committee investigations into Medicare drug policy, gaps in the nation's mental healthcare system, and DOE's management of the nuclear weapons complex.
