Steven A. Adducci


Steve Adducci focuses his practice on energy and administrative law, with emphasis on natural gas, electricity, oil, and petroleum product regulatory matters and natural gas and oil royalty issues.

Steve has advised and handled energy regulatory, compliance, trial, and appellate proceedings associated with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Interior, State Utility Commissions, and federal courts. He also has experience structuring, developing, and drafting documents involving the regulation of energy properties, natural gas, electricity, oil and petroleum product transportation, marketing and natural gas storage and distribution facilities. Steve also led a Venable litigation team in obtaining a FERC ALJ Initial Decision involving the favorable allocation of over half a billion dollars of electric transmission upgrade costs.

Steve represents large and small independent exploration and production companies, petroleum product refiners, pipeline companies, natural gas marketer and storage provider, and electric transmission providers, power producers and cooperatives regarding various rate, certificate, and compliance proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Interior, and State Utility Commissions.


Steve is a member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and Energy Bar Association.  He also volunteers his time in connection with various civic events and youth sports activities.  Steve is a former member of the Alexandria, Virginia Chapter of the American Red Cross Board of Directors and is a past general counsel for the Chapter's Waterfront Festival from 1996-1999 and 2002-2009.
