Jim Nelson was quoted on January 25, 2018, on Venable's new San Francisco office as a key indicator of the firm's growing presence in the Bay area. Venable opened its doors in San Francisco just three years ago, and since then has moved three times and grown to 30 attorneys and 19 staff members.

Commenting on the move, Jim Nelson, partner-in-charge of the San Francisco office, said, "We have grown with a clear focus on relationships. We have worked tirelessly to be our clients' trusted advisors and counsel, and will continue to serve them faithfully in the future. In support of that mission, our attorneys, whether newcomers to Venable or veterans, find great satisfaction in working within the office and across the firm to deliver. This helps us find talented attorneys to further build our expertise locally. It really has been a virtuous circle driving our growth."

Venable's San Francisco office is well known for servicing the following industries and sectors: advertising, consumer product goods, financial service, food and beverage, healthcare, high-net-worth families and individuals, hospitality, nonprofits, retail, and technology. The office's key marquee practices include Commercial Litigation, Consumer Class Action Defense, Corporate, Environment, Intellectual Property, International Tax, Product Liability and Mass Torts, and Tax and Wealth Planning.
