Victoria R. Danta

Associate

Viki Danta is an intellectual property and brand management attorney focusing on trademark infringement and anti-counterfeiting litigation. She regularly advises clients of all sizes on trademark, trade dress, copyright, and unfair competition matters, including how to obtain and secure those rights, and how to protect and police them. Viki brings over five years of drafting and litigation experience to her practice. She has extensive investigation experience from her anti-counterfeiting work, as well as her background in internal investigations and white-collar criminal defense.

She has advised clients in diverse industries, including consumer goods, software, social media, professional sports, luxury hotels, foods and beverages, and multimedia entertainment and product licensing. Viki has litigated, appeared, and argued trademark and copyright disputes in federal courts across the country, and in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. She also works hand in hand with local counsel in foreign countries on IP litigation, anti-counterfeiting, and customs and enforcement actions.

Viki is a 2010 graduate of Fordham University School of Law. She also earned a B.A. magna cum laude from Lehigh University.

Significant Matters

  • Drafted applications for, and successfully obtained and executed, ex parte seizure orders against distributors of counterfeit consumer goods in Texas, California, Michigan, and New York.
  • Obtained temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions against hundreds of sellers of counterfeit consumer goods, including online sellers operating anonymously on e-commerce marketplaces.
  • As a result of online enforcement and anti-counterfeiting work, helped shut down a Chinese factory manufacturing counterfeit goods, and obtained arrests and asset seizures of the principals.
  • Represented an international furniture company in a trade dress infringement matter in federal court.
  • Advised and has filed trademark infringement, copyright infringement, and unfair competition lawsuits for numerous clients in numerous federal courts, including the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
