The O'Malley administration is making new waves in the Bay that threaten to rock the boats of Maryland employers.

  • Legislation expanding state antidiscrimination laws has passed, to the delight of plaintiffs and their lawyers.
  • DLLR has issued new guidance stating that accrued but unused vacation must be paid on termination regardless of your policies
  • New laws have been proposed to restrict the classification of workers as independent contractors; require employers to file new types of employee records; and extend unemployment benefits to part-time workers, among others.
