This program will provide an overview of the principal statutory and regulatory compliance requirements that apply to the recipients of federal grants and contracts, as well as to subrecipients and subcontractors under grant and contract programs. It will discuss examples of the most common compliance issues encountered by nonprofit organizations that receive significant federal grant and contract funding (e.g., accounting for program costs; adequacy of organizational policies necessary to comply with procurement, standards of conduct, audit requirements; ensuring that federal requirements are “flowed-down” to subrecipients and subcontractors) and will review strategies for mitigating the risk of noncompliance.
