Venable is sponsoring the Kick-Start Sessions at the 2024 Smarter Faster Payments Conference in Miami Beach, Florida. On Monday, May 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:50 p.m., two of our very own, Ellen Berge and Andrew Bigart, will collaborate on their own session, “Hot Legal Topics in Payments and Fintech.” They will discuss consumer protection issues such as dark patterns and negative option billing. In addition, their panel will cover the legal and regulatory implications of merchant-of-record customers, the use of FBO accounts in payments and fintech, and managing risks with payments as a service (PaaS)arrangements, among other topics.
