Sarah E. Fisher

Associate
Sarah Fisher

Sarah Fisher helps clients navigate the often murky waters of federal, state, and local laws that regulate nonprofit organization activity. Sarah advises public charities, social welfare organizations, trade associations, and other entities on a range of issues, including corporate governance, event vendor contracting, charitable solicitation registration, and cause marketing. She also helps clients secure tax-exempt status at the federal, state, and local levels.

Sarah gives practical counsel rooted in her hands-on experience. Prior to earning her law degree, Sarah worked at Venable as a nonprofit services analyst. In this role, she oversaw nationwide charitable solicitation registration compliance for high-profile clients and gained a keen understanding of the unique regulatory challenges facing today's tax-exempt organizations.

Outside of the office, charitable service remains close to Sarah's heart. At William & Mary Law School, Sarah served as the funding chair of the Public Service Fund, a student-run organization that raises money to provide stipends to law students working in unpaid public interest positions. In her final semester, Sarah managed and directed the distribution of over $100,000 in stipends to 1L and 2L classmates.
