An experienced and steady lead counsel in both trials and arbitrations, Abe Moore is adept at identifying unique legal solutions for his clients’ disputes while closely considering their business objectives. As a seasoned trial attorney who focuses his practice on complex litigation, Abe is a dedicated and creative advocate. A globally recognized litigator, he has helped clients resolve commercial disputes through federal and state court litigation, domestic and international arbitration, and intensive mediation and negotiations. Abe is passionate about guiding his clients seamlessly from a matter’s inception to its completion.

Abe’s practice encompasses a wide array of complex disputes, including defense against alleged discrimination claims, all manner of breach of contract claims, post-acquisition business disputes, and construction and real estate disputes. He also has a wealth of experience serving as lead counsel on both post- and mid-acquisition deal disputes.

In addition to his prowess in the courtroom, Abe has a deep understanding of the financial services sector. Pairing this savvy with his tactical skill as a litigator, he has defended national banks against complex claims of widespread racial discrimination brought by numerous municipalities in federal courts and discrimination claims brought by individuals. Abe is also well versed in the fast-paced realm of cryptocurrency.

He is passionate about representing individual clients in disputes over cryopreserved embryos. Since serving in a groundbreaking matter in the state of Illinois, Abe is regarded as a thought leader in the cryopreservation space. He has since counseled clients across the United States regarding their rights in such disputes.

Representative Matters

  • Served as lead counsel in two lawsuits pending in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California on behalf of a national sports governing body, concerning allegations of misconduct
  • Represented a national bank in numerous lawsuits brought by municipalities claiming long-term discriminatory equity-stripping schemes in violation of the Fair Housing Act
  • Achieved the full award in favor of an MEP subcontractor in an international arbitration with a general contractor over construction of troop housing on a U.S. air base in Qatar
  • Achieved the full award in favor of an international food product supplier in arbitration with one of its distributors
  • Served as lead trial counsel for a food product recall contractor during a post-acquisition lawsuit against an international company over the purchase of some business lines and the related noncompetition agreements
  • Achieved the full award in favor of a building materials manufacturer in arbitration with a former contractor who was hired to recycle unusable materials
  • Represented numerous clients in disputes relating to control over cryopreserved embryos, including through trials and appeals
  • Served as lead counsel in the first embryo custody lawsuit in Illinois, ultimately achieving judgment in favor of the client and creating the law in Illinois on this subject
  • Acted as an arbitrator in an arbitration between shareholders in a multistate specialized cleaning business
  • Represented the seller of a national auto emissions testing company in a post-acquisition international arbitration with its foreign purchaser
  • Represented a Hong Kong contractor in litigation with a U.S. supplier over the supplier’s provision of defective building products
  • Represented a real estate owner during federal litigation against its co-tenant in a commercial center
  • Advised a Qatari family office during a shareholder dispute with an international construction contractor
  • Represented an international association of mental health providers in a lawsuit in Chicago in which the plaintiff alleged breach of confidentiality obligations
  • Advised a U.S. architectural firm in a dispute with a property owner regarding the design and construction of a mall in Qatar
  • Represented a commercial tenant in litigation with its landlord over COVID-19-related issues
