Die Welt highlights Jim Hanks's Bucerius Law School Medal of Honor award

Venable partner Jim Hanks was recently awarded the Bucerius Law School Medal of Honor at a ceremony in Hamburg, Germany led by former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt. Hanks has been Commerzbank Visiting Professor of Law at the School and has taught in its International Program and its Master of Law and Business Program. News of the award was highlighted in Die Welt (The World), one of Germany's largest daily newspapers, on November 14, 2012.

Bucerius Law School in Hamburg is Germany’s first private law school with the right to award bachelor's, doctoral and post-doctoral degrees. The School consistently ranks first in bar passage in Germany and ranked first in the most recent CHE-Hochschulranking, the counterpart to the U.S. News & World Report law school rankings. Awarded once every two years, the Bucerius award recognizes outstanding personalities for contributions made to the field of law in Germany.
