Venable Promotes Nine to Partner

Washington, D.C.-Venable is pleased to announce the addition of nine attorneys to its partnership ranks: John B. Beaty, Juliana Schulte O'Reilly, Maria F. Howell, Marina Lolley Dame, Christine M. McAnney, Connie N. Bertram, William Craig Dubishar, Charles ("Rod") Marvin, Jr., and Jerome S. Gabig.

John B. Beaty, formerly Of Counsel, focuses his practice on advising banks, thrifts, insurance companies, and securities brokers regarding U.S. banking and financial services laws. Mr. Beaty earned his B.S. with highest honors from Michigan State University and his J.D. from the University of Chicago. He served as assistant general counsel to both the Resolution Trust Corporation and Federal Home Loan Bank.

Juliana Schulte O'Reilly concentrates on banking and insurance issues. She has represented financial institutions in de novo formations, mergers and acquisitions, and other transactional matters. Ms. O'Reilly received her B.A from the University of Virginia, and her J.D. from The George Washington University National Law Center.

Maria F. Howell is a general commercial litigator with experience in the areas of breach of contract, torts arising out of contracts, professional negligence accounting, antitrust matters, and civil RICO actions. Ms. Howell received her B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and her J.D. from the University of Maryland.

Marina Lolley Dame practices primarily in the areas of toxic tort, product liability and various commercial disputes. Ms. Dame received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Loyola College and her J.D from the University of Maryland.

Christine M. McAnney represents architects and engineers, including issues of design and structural failure, drafting and negotiation of contracts, and alternative dispute resolution. She also represents owners and contractors with respect to construction-related litigation matters, such as the defense of mechanic's aliens, construction contract claims and disputes between owners, general contractors and subcontractors. Ms. McAnney received her B.S. from the University of Central Florida and her J.D., cum laude from George Mason University School of Law.

Connie N. Bertram represents employers in the full spectrum of employment and labor litigation and counseling. Ms. Bertram received her B.B.A. from the College of William & Mary and her J.D., with honors, from The National Law Center at George Washington University.

William Craig Dubishar practices in the area of government contracts, which includes bid protests before the General Accounting Office, contract negotiation, contract claims appeals, cost accounting issues, and general compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations. He received his B.S. cum laude, from the University of Missouri, M.S. from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and J.D. cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center.

Charles ("Rod") Marvin, Jr., formerly Of Counsel, focuses on government contract and environmental redemption claims investigation, preparation, and litigation, as well as contract award protests. Mr. Marvin received his B.A. with honors, from Michigan State University, J.D. from Boston University School of Law, Master of Laws from The Judge Advocate General's School-U.S. Army, and his Master of Laws, with highest honors, in Government Procurement Law from the George Washington University.

Jerome S. Gabig, formerly Of Counsel, focuses on government contracts law with particular emphasis on major systems contracts and information systems contracts. Mr. Gabig received his B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy, C.S.S. from Harvard University, and J.D. from the Hastings College of the Law at the University of California.
