The Venable Success Network (VSN) is designed to help African American attorneys develop a strong network of colleagues. Through dinners, workshops, and other events, members foster relationships that contribute to their advancement within the firm and the community. VSN’s ongoing efforts have contributed to Venable’s 2019 recognition as a Lawyers of Color Diversity & Inclusion Leader. This honor is bestowed upon firms that are demonstrated leaders in hiring and retaining Black attorneys, based on data collected in The Black Student’s Guide to Law Schools & Firms.
Recently, VSN held a 15-month “boot camp,” which featured a series of workshops for associates on developing professional skills, providing strategies for transitioning from associate to counsel or partner, and identifying a mentor.
VSN also has quarterly meetings focused on cross-selling and promoting the group’s members, and an annual networking dinner.
