Venable Environmental Team Obtains Victory in Maryland Beltway Managed Lanes Litigation

On March 20, 2024, Federal District Court Judge Chasanow issued a comprehensive ruling in favor of the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), upholding all aspects of the agency's environmental and cultural resources analysis for the proposed Capital Beltway Managed Lane Project. Fred Wagner and Jay Johnson represented the state in court, and many members of the Environmental Practice Group worked together with the SHA for over four years through the complicated process to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement and related documents for the project.
