Jim Burnley, a Venable partner and Secretary of Transportation during the Reagan administration, and Rodney Slater, a partner at Patton Boggs and Secretary of Transportation during the Clinton administration, are featured in a wide-ranging question and answer session about transportation issues facing the next administration and how the each candidate would likely approach those issues as president. The interview was published in the fall 2008 edition of TQ, the ABA Transportation Committee’s quarterly publication.

Key issues addressed in the interview include: the funding of ground and air transportation infrastructure, public-private partnerships, transportation earmarks, the future of Amtrak, fuel economy standards and green house gas emissions.
