Venable partner Roger W. Titus has been honored along with 23 other Marylanders with The Daily Record's first Leadership in the Law award. The award recognizes members of the legal community throughout Maryland who have devoted their time and energy to bettering the profession, have committed themselves to improving the community in which they live and work, and have played the important role of mentoring future professional and community leaders.
Mr. Titus is one of the leading trial and appellate attorneys in Maryland. During his distinguished thirty-five year legal career, he has exemplified unparalleled leadership in both the law and in the community that has made a positive impact on the State of Maryland. Mr. Titus will be profiled in a special Leadership in the Law section of The Daily Record on October 27.
Mr. Titus is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. He serves on the Standing Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Court of Appeals of Maryland and is the current chair of the Evidence, Appellate, Form Interrogatory, and Management of Litigation Subcommittees. He is a past president of the Maryland State Bar Association, Maryland Bar Foundation and Maryland Municipal Attorneys Association. He has also served as a member of the ABA House of Delegates and as a member of the Trial Courts Judicial Nominating Commission for Montgomery County and the Appellate Judicial Nominating Commission of Maryland.
In 1999 Mr. Titus received the Century of Service Award from the Montgomery County Bar Association for outstanding contributions to the legal profession and community during the Twentieth Century. Mr. Titus continues to play an active role in the professional development of Venable attorneys and teaches and mentors attorneys as a member of the Inn of Court of Montgomery County.
