Washington, DC, May 7, 2002 . . . Venable is pleased to announce that Karen Guthrie King has joined Venable as a Senior Regulatory Advisor in the regulatory practice. At Venable, Ms. King will focus on legislative and regulatory matters for the firm's telecommunications clients.
Ms. King is the former Director of Government Affairs at the Personal Communications Industry Association (PCIA) representing the wireless infrastructure industry. The agreement, signed in March 2001 by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers (NCSHPO), and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP), will speed the process of collocation and grandfather existing tower structures, while protecting historic properties.
Prior to PCIA, Ms. King was a telecommunications specialist at the law firm of Manatt, Phelps, and Phillips, and spent 16 years in the telecommunications industry, including broadcast television, wireless telecommunications, cable television, and telephone.
