A Friday, December 19, 2008 Gazette story noted the addition of Marta Harting, a leading Maryland legislative and regulatory attorney, as a partner in Venable's Baltimore office.
Harting, who arrives from the Baltimore office of DLA Piper, represents a wide range of business interests before the Maryland General Assembly as well as the state's regulatory agencies. She joins Venable's State and Local Government Practice Group and will work closely with John R. Stierhoff, who joined the firm in September 2007. Harting is an authority in administrative law and public law litigation.
Harting was quoted in the article on the reason for her move to Venable. "I sensed that Venable had really decided to get into the Maryland legislative arena in a very big way and had made a big commitment to it," said Harting.
