The September 2009 issue of American Lawyer profiled Venable senior partner and former U.S. Attorney General Benjamin Civiletti as one of the six distinguished attorneys receiving the publication's 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award. The profile includes a half-page summary of some of Civiletti's career accomplishments, as well as a full-page picture.

American Lawyer's lifetime achievement winners are senior lawyers who have made important contributions to public life while building outstanding private or public-interest practices. Among the other notables being recognized this year is former FBI and CIA Director William Webster. Past winners include former Secretaries of State Warren Christopher and James Baker, former Attorney General Dick Thornburgh, and former Chief Judge of the US Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit Patricia Wald.

The Award will be presented during the American Lawyer Awards on October 28 in New York, NY.
