Venable Partner Greg Gill was quoted in a November 15 Washington Post article on how lobbying strategies will change in the new House of Representatives. The article noted recent comments from presumed House speaker-in-waiting John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) to "open things up" by shifting power to the committees and moving away from comprehensive spending bills.
Gill said, "Advocates will have to reach out to more of the rank-and-file members, subcommittee chairmen and committee chairmen to do some of the grass roots and block-and-tackle lobbying we did in the old days."
