A May 4, 2011 a Citybizlist Baltimore article announced that Venable partner Bob Waldman was elected to continue serving as Chairman of the Board of the Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers (ABAG).

ABAG is a membership organization of foundations, donor advised funds, and corporate giving programs, whose mission is to maximize the impact of philanthropic giving. The organization is dedicated to strengthening and promoting organized private philanthropy as well as improving the community.
