Venable partner Ron Jacobs was quoted in a September 19, 2011 Roll Call article about accusations of alleged embezzlement by a prominent Democratic campaign treasurer in California who handled over 400 client accounts.
Commenting on potential legal issues faced by the campaigns that worked with the Treasurer, Jacobs said, "There are a lot of federal candidates who apparently did not have those controls in place, so the FEC could very well go after not only [Durkee] personally but file complaints against the campaigns that filed false statements. That is a very real possibility in this case."
