Venable Partner Craig Thompson Joins Baltimore City Community College Board of Trustees

Washington, DC (September 30, 2011) – Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley recently announced five new appointments to the Baltimore City Community College Board of Trustees.  Among the five new appointees is Venable LLP partner Craig Thompson.
  
Members to the nine-person board are appointed by the Governor with approval by the state Senate.  Eight board members serve a six-year term and one student member serves a one-year term.

Mr. Thompson represents clients at the federal and state level in the areas of commercial litigation, product liability, premises liability and personal injury. In addition, he leads Venable’s inclusion and diversity initiatives as Chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee.  Outside of Venable, Mr. Thompson serves as an adjunct professor for the University of Maryland, College Park where he also serves on the Board of Trustees.  Mr. Thompson also writes a monthly column for The Daily Record and is the author of a series of children’s books on African-American history.
